Yes, your 9800 can run both your 2405s but the second one will have to be hooked up VGA / Analog since your 9800 has only one DVI output connector.  You would need a card with two DVI output connectors to run both monitors in DVI Mode.   Here is the Dell link with cards capable of running the widescreen monitors.

I had the OEM nvidia 6800 when I first bought my machine-which has 1 DVI and 1 VGA out. The 24 actually does work quite well with the VGA output from a video card. One of my older 20" monitors looked awful with VGA and is only decent under DVI, but the 2405 looks decent with either-but it is better with DVI, so you'll have to make the decision if you want to invest in a new card-but you'll be able to use the 2nd monitor in the meantime no matter what.

Thank you both for your replies. Both of you were correct!

For anyone whom this info might serve, the 2405 does look very nice on the VGA analog port, it looked even better than I surmised. Sure, the one on the DVI, to the discerning eye, does have subtle visual advantages, but mostly when viewing high resolution quality images. Perhaps the colors look a tad bit warmer and richer.

Other than that, they look virtually identical. For most productivity apps, internet browsing, etc., its almost impossible to tell. I asked my girlfriend to pick out which one looked better, without her knowing which had the DVI, and she could not decide. The 9800pro is an aging but able card, amazing how it drives two 1920x1200 displays with such ease.

Again, thanks for the replies, and hope this info is fruitful to anyone contemplating the same issue. Unless I decide to dabble with the lastest games or 3D rendering, I have no need for a new card!
